The draw of the WTA Finals has placed Tunisian tenniswoman ons Jabeur (7th in the world) in the Chetamal group.
This group is also made up of IGA Swiatek (2nd in the WTA ranking), Coco Gauff (3rd) and Marketa Vondrousova (6th).
In the Bacalar group, we find Aryna Sabalenka (1st), Elena Rybakina (4th), Jessica Pegula (5th) and Maria Sakkari (9th).
ARYNA SABALENKA comes to date from the Bacalar group and IGA Swiatek, from the Chetamal group. WTA final matches will start tomorrow on Sunday in Cancun in Mexico.
The Bacalar group will see a revenge of two of the finals of the season, with Sabalenka and Rybakina combined. The two have played three times this season, Sabalenka winning the Australian Open final, Rybakina winning the Indian Wells final and the Beijing quarter -finals.
The Chetamal group includes three of the great champions of the season, with the winner of Roland-Garros, Swiatek, the US Open champion, Gauff and the Wimbledon Vondrousova champion.
Swiatek and Gauff will compete for the 10th time in their career. The group will also see revenge from the Wimbledon final, with Jabeur against Vondrousova.
The first two of each group access the semi-finals. The best of each group will face the second in the other group. The semi-finals and the final are played in a direct elimination format.
