Only four Arab football clubs carried out a financial surplus in 2022: Wydad Casablanca, Al Hilal and Al Nasr Saudiens, as well as the African club, according to a report published by the Saudi newspaper “Al-Sharq News”.
Al Hilal is at the top of this ranking, followed by the WAC which increased its income by 61% compared to 2021, pocketing around $ 18.5 million, and reducing its expenses by 26% to 8 million dollars.
The Moroccan club has achieved a financial surplus of $ 10.5 million. Al Nasr occupied third place in this ranking, while the Tunisian African Club is 4th.
The report data is limited to clubs that have already announced their budgets for the year 2022. Several Arab clubs have not yet made their figures public.
In February 2021, the African club had debts worth 43 million dinars, a slate brought back to 12.5 million dinars in August 2022.
The CA is however required to pay, before the deadline of June 30, 2023, 6.4 million dinars in order to lift the sanction for prohibiting recruitment which is imposed on it and in order to be able to participate in African competitions next season; 3.5 million dinars relating to litigation brought before FIFA and 2.9 million dinars concern local conflicts.
