FIFA has decided to shift the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar 24 hours.
This decision comes to “allow the organizing country to play the opening match against Ecuador, as tradition wants”.
The kick -off of the competition will therefore take place on November 20 instead of the 21st at the Al Bayt stadium, sources close to the tournament told AFP on Wednesday.
Suddenly, three meetings will be on the program on November 21, namely Senegal / Netherlands, England / Iran and the United States / Wales.
