The Tunisian player Moez Chargui (476th world) qualified for the knockout stages of the 20th International Open of Tunis (Challenger 75), after having beaten the New Zealander James Watt (746th) in two sets on Tuesday: 7-6, 6-3. The match took place on the Tennis Club of Tunis courts.
Chargui will face in the next round on Wednesday, the Frenchman Valentin Royer (117th), a fall of his compatriot Robin Bertrand (295th) on the 6-3, 6-2 score.
On the other hand, the two other Tunisian representatives did not experience the same fate. Aziz Ouakaa (618th) was beaten by the Argentinian Federico Coria (141st) in two hooked sets: 3-6, 5-7. As for Aziz Dougaz (198th), he was eliminated in the round of 16 after a defeat in three rounds against Australian Bernard Tomic (231st): 6-1, 6-7, 5-7.
The 20th edition of the Tunis International Open, with $ 100,000, is held from May 12 to 17 and brings together 50 players from 25 countries.
