The National Arbitration Directorate has announced that it now allows managers of the Professional Ligue 1 clubs to submit an official request to consult the VAR video recordings and video sequences, in order to clarify certain decisions made during the meetings.
This initiative is part of a desire for transparency, especially after recent controversies concerning the use of VAR. The match between the African club and the sporting Es tunis, disputed at the Hammadi Agrebi stadium in Radès, particularly aroused reactions, due to a goal canceled for an alleged hand. Rumors had then circulated on possible dysfunctions of the system.
In this context, the arbitration department claims to want to guarantee fair treatment for all teams. The Technical Arbitration Commission is thus available to clubs which wish to examine specific situations, by allowing them to consult the recordings linked to disputed game phases.
To do this, interested clubs must send an official request, specifying the information necessary to examine the file: date of the meeting, teams concerned, approximate minute of the action in question, as well as any useful data to the analysis.
