Ligue 1 (7ᵉ day): Zarzis alone his head, the CA gets bogged down in metlaoui

The 7ᵉ day of the Ligue 1 championship delivered its verdict this weekend. ES Zarzis took the first place alone thanks to its demonstration in Kairouan (4-1), while the African club stumbled in Metlaoui (1-0). At the bottom of the table, US Ben Guerdane and JS Omrane neutralized (0-0), while the Sfaxian CS still trampled in Gabès.

Zarzis impresses

On Saturday, ES Zarzis struck hard on the lawn of JS Kairouan. Led in the 11th minute, the players of Anis Bouljelbène overturned the situation by scoring four goals in less than half an hour. With this large victory (4-1), Zarzis moved alone in the lead with 16 points.

At the same time, the Sfaxian CS and AS Gabès left back to back (0-0), a frustrating result which leaves the two formations stuck in the soft belly.

The African club broken down

On Sunday, the surprise came from Metlaoui, where the local ES inflicted on the African club its second defeat of the season (1-0). Reduced to ten after the expulsion of Charfeddine Aoun and sealed by a failed penalty of Firas Chaouat at the end of the match, the men of Faouzi Benzarti displayed a disturbing impotence.

In Ben Guerdane, USBG and JS Omrane failed to decide (0-0). A result without relief that does not help either, the two teams remaining blocked in the middle of the table.
