Ligue 1 – 12th day: Esperance takes the lead

Espérance de Tunis took over the leadership of Ligue 1 after its controlled success (2-1) against CS Sfaxien on Sunday during the clasico played at the Taïeb Mhiri stadium. Undefeated for thirteen matches, the “Sang et Or” confirm their control over the championship, taking advantage of the draw conceded by their Tunisian rivals.

Competitors slowed down

The draw (0-0) between Stade Tunisien and JS Omrane at the Zouiten stadium did the business of Sang et Or. The Stadistes, now third with 26 points, let slip an opportunity to take the lead alone. The African Club, held in check by AS Soliman (1-1), also misses the boat and remains second, one length behind its eternal rival.

In Bizerte, CAB was able to smile again after its big victory against Olympique de Béja (3-0). On the other hand, Olympique de Béja, bottom with 8 points, sees the situation becoming seriously complicated.

Serious incident in Zarzis

The match between Esperance de Zarzis and AS Marsa was interrupted in the 66th minute, after Marseille coach Ameur Derbal was injured in the head by a projectile thrown from the stands. The score was then 0-0. The technician was evacuated to hospital, and an investigation was opened to identify those responsible for this violent act.
