Olympic vice-champion Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi (-58 kg) won, this Friday, October 21, 2022, the silver medal in its category during the Manchester Grand Prix, the third World Taekwondo Grand Prix of the season, after Rome and Paris. Khalil Jendoubi could have won gold but he only gave in to the last seconds of the third round in the final against South Korean Park Tajoon by losing 1-2. In the quarter-finals, he had eliminated Hungarian Salim Sherif (2-0) before spreading the Irishman Jack Woolley (2-0) in the semi-finals. This Manchester Grand Prix brought together the top 32 of each Olympic category to prepare for the world championships scheduled for next month in Mexico and score points for the World Taekwondo Olympic ranking which will attribute quotas for the 2024 Paris Games.
