The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received this Wednesday at the Palais de Carthage Tunisian champion Ahmed Jaouadi, double gold medalist at the world swimming championships in Singapore.
On this occasion, the Head of State awarded him the decoration of the National Order of Merit, first class, in the sport sector.
By congratulating him on his exploits, the president said: “Congratulations on this personal victory, which is also a victory for Tunisia. Tunisia is undoubtedly a land of champions. While you were swimming, you thought of the victory, the Tunisian flag was before your eyes, hoisted everywhere. We are proud of this success. »»
And to add: “Continue like this. I know that you have provided hard work before this world consecration, and you will certainly be covered with gold, you and Tunisia. »»
The President of the Republic also stressed that the time when we participated just to participate is over: “Now, we participate to triumph. The Tunisian people will accept nothing other than victory. And as long as he persists in this desire to win, he will reach all his objectives, because his champions are numerous. »»
