We feared the worst for the Brazilian Neymar, injured yesterday during the Brazil – Serbia match.
Affected by the right ankle ligament during the victory against Serbia (2-0), the Brazilian star will be absent on Monday against Switzerland in the second Brazil game at the 2012 World Cup, the doctor of Seleçao announced on Friday, reassuring Brazilian fans who feared a plan for the World Cup.
Rodrigo Lasmar, doctor of the Brazilian Federation (CBF), announced that Neymar suffered from a “lateral ligament lesion” at the ankle level, while defender Danilo also suffers from a sprain.
“We will not have these two players for our next match, but they continue their treatment with the aim of recovering them in time for the continuation of the competition,” he said in a video broadcast by the CBF.
