Ons Jabeur is about to write history. She who competes this Saturday, July 9, 2022 her first Grand Chelem final, that of Wimbledon, wants to become the first Tunisian, African and Arab to win such a prestigious title.

Yesterday Friday, in a column that she published in the columns of the BBC site, Ons Jabeur did not hide his disappointment given that his family will not be in Wimbledon to see her play.

“My brother Hatem plans to come from Tunisia and I hope he will be there on Saturday, but unfortunately the other members of my family have no visa. It will be difficult for them, but they will encourage me at home. My parents Samira and Ridha and my sister Yasmine cannot come to London, but it would be great if Hatem, and perhaps my brother-in-law, were here, “she explained.

“My inspiration is my mother. She is a big tennis fan and took me to a tennis club when I was only three years old. My mother played with her friends and I commented. After the matches, I was asked how she could lose! I spent there all day at the tennis club and I loved it. I had so much fun that I sometimes even forgot to eat. People could say that I had a talent in the way I kept the racket and that I could keep the ball on the racket, “she said.
