The Polish IGA Swiatek won last night the Masters WTA for the first time in her career while sweeping 6-1, 6-0 the American Jessica Pegula, in Cancun (Mexico).
The 22-year-old Polish made sure the coveted title of the WTA Finals but also resumed her place as a world number 1 on the sidelines of this success by dislodging Aryna Sabalenka, which she had dryly eliminated the day before in the semi-finals (6-3, 6-2).
Swiatek succeeds the French Caroline Garcia at the charts of this tournament bringing together the eight best players of the year, and won the 17th title of her career, the 6th this season which notably saw him win in Roland-Garros.
