The next general assembly of the Tunisian Football Federation, which was to be held on May 11, 2024, was canceled on Tuesday April 30 following the rejection of the three lists in the running. However, that of Jalel Tekaya could well be drafted!
The controversy is at its height concerning the election of the next federal office and that of the president of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF). Tuesday, April 30, the independent electoral committee of the FTF rejected the two lists which still remained in the running after the final rejection of that of Wassef Jelil. Except that Jalel Tekaya’s list may well be drafted by the appeal committee.
Zied Hamdi, a member of the list of Jalel Tekaya, has given details this Thursday, May 2, 2024 on the Mosaic FM, indicating that an appeal was filed with the FTF appeal commission against the decision of the independent electoral committee. The said committee had rejected Jalel Tekaya’s list, due to an offense in article 36 of the statutes of the FTF.
According to Zied Hamdi, “the doubts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports concerning Jalel Tekaya Bulletin 3, explaining that a bulletin No. 3 Update has been submitted today, dated April 30 and free from any legal defect. From there, the application file becomes in accordance with the conditions stipulated in article 36 ”.
Recall that the lists of Zied Tlemçani and Jalel Tekaya, were rejected on Tuesday, on the pretext that they do not meet the conditions mentioned by article 36 of the statutes of the FTF.
Zied Tlemçani and Jalel Ben Tekaya can still appeal this decision knowing that the appeal committee decided last Sunday, to definitively reject the appeal presented by Wassef Jelil against the decision of the Electoral Committee to withdraw his list of the race for the presidency of the FTF.
On May 11, the agenda was to be the election of the new federal office knowing that the FTF summoned an elective general assembly for the period 2024-2028 while the mandate of the current office, arrives and its president Wadii Jary has been incarcerated since October 25, 2023.
