Etoile sportif du Sahel formalized on Wednesday the appointment of Mohamed Mkacher as head of its first football team. The coach has signed with the club until June 2027, after the finalization of legal procedures relating to the termination of his contract with Al-Hilal Benghazi, which he joined last September.
According to the club, the deal was concluded once formalities were cleared with his previous employer in Libya. Mkacher thus returns to the team with which he had a convincing season before his departure, a stint which continues to generate consensus among supporters and observers.
In-camera training to prepare for upcoming deadlines
From this Wednesday, Etoile began a ten-day blocked training session in Aïn Draham, in anticipation of the return phase of the championship. This preparation should allow the new coach to make his tactical choices and restructure the group before future competitions.
A team in search of revival
The star-studded team completed the first phase of the championship in 8th place with 19 points (5 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats). The arrival of Mkacher comes in a context where management hopes to revive the sporting dynamic and quickly return to the race for first places.
