Hard blow for Esperance Sportive de Tunis. Algerian international Youcef Belaïli, injured yesterday during the derby against Club Africain, suffers from a ruptured cruciate ligament in his knee, medical examinations carried out this Monday morning confirmed.
Exited in the 21st minute of the match at the Hammadi Agrebi stadium, Belaïli felt severe pain after a poorly negotiated support. The first examinations raised fears of a serious injury, which the MRI carried out last night unfortunately confirmed: rupture of the cruciate ligaments, reports Mosaique fm.
The player will be operated on in the coming days and will have to observe a minimum of six months of unavailability, thus almost putting an end to his season with Esperance and compromising his participation in the next rounds of the Algerian selection.
A hard blow for Esperance and the Algerian selection
Belaïli remains a key element in Maher Kenzari’s system, through his creativity and his experience. This long absence represents an offensive headache for Esperance, already deprived of several executives due to injury.
On the side of Algiers, the news also caused concern: Belaïli was part of the pre-selection of the Greens for the next international events.
