The International Football Federation (FIFA) said it opened a disciplinary procedure against Senegal today.
FIFA said that only coach Aliou Cissé was present at a press conference before the meeting between Senegal and Ecuador (2 -goals to 1 Senegal), while the regulation stipulates the compulsory presence of a team player.
FIFA has based itself in its decision to open a disciplinary procedure against Senegal on article 44 of the World Cup regulation, article 2.7.2 of the media and marketing regulations, as well as on article 8.5.3 of the team manual. Senegal risks a fine of 10 thousand Swiss francs.
