Suffering, for years of pancreatic cancer, Gianluca Vialli died on the night of Thursday to Friday January 6, 2023, his family told the Italian press.
The former Sampdoria, Juventus and Chelsea striker as well as the Italian national team (59 selections, 16 goals), died at the age of 58.

Gianluca Vialli was born on July 9, 1964 in Crémone in the Lombardy region. He evolved as an attacker from the beginning of the 1980s to the late 1990s, before becoming a coach.
He was the technical coordinator of Squadra Azzurra during the 2020 Euro played in the summer of 2021.
