The Tunisian selection concluded the group stage of the 2025 African Cup of Nations with a draw against Tanzania (1–1), a result sufficient to validate its ticket for the round of 16.
The Carthage Eagles opened the scoring thanks to Ismaël Gharbi, who converted a penalty in the first period, rewarding a generally controlled start.
However, Tanzania managed to come back to the score through Feisal Salum, taking advantage of a moment of defensive inattention to restart the match.
Despite favorable possession, Tunisia failed to regain the advantage, ending the match with a score of parity which leaves a taste of unfinished business but ensures the essentials.
Mali is waiting for us
Thanks to this result, Tunisia finishes the group stage in second position and will face Mali in the round of 16, in a shock next Saturday.
The technical staff will have to correct the shortcomings observed in the offensive animation and the management of weak times, in order to approach this decisive meeting with greater rigor and efficiency. Faced with Mali, Tunisia will no longer be allowed to make mistakes if it wants to continue its continental adventure.
