Tunisia faces Nigeria this Saturday evening in Fez for the second day of Group C of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. A decisive clash between two contenders for qualification, with a place in the round of 16 in their sights.
The Fez stadium welcomes, from 9:00 p.m., the flagship poster of the second day of group C. Tunisians and Nigerians approach this meeting with the same objective: to validate their ticket for the direct elimination round from this group phase.
The direction of the match was entrusted to the Malian referee Boubou Traoré, with the assistance of the Senegalese Issa Sy at the VAR, for a meeting announced as intense and committed.
Tunisia driven by a founding success
The Eagles of Carthage present themselves with increased confidence after their controlled victory against Uganda on the first day (3-1). This success allowed the Tunisian selection to ideally launch its continental campaign and regain positive momentum, a few months after a lackluster Arab Cup.
The technical staff hopes to capitalize on this performance to confirm the collective solidity displayed and reach a milestone from this second outing.
Nigeria between ambition and spirit of revenge
For its part, Nigeria also successfully entered the competition by winning against Tanzania (2-1). The Super Eagles are approaching this meeting with ambition, but also with a still vivid memory: their elimination by Tunisia during the round of 16 of CAN 2021.
A context which gives this duel an additional symbolic dimension, beyond the immediate sporting issue.
Earlier in the evening, Uganda and Tanzania will face off at 6:30 p.m. in the group’s other encounter. But all eyes will be on Fez, where Tunisians and Nigerians will try to win in a clash which could already seal the fate of Group C.
