The Refereeing Commission of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has entrusted the Congolese Jean Jacques Ndala Ngambo with the direction of the decisive meeting between Tunisia and Tanzania, counting for the 3rd day of the group stage of the CAN 2025, scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday at 5:00 p.m., Tunis time.

Jean Jacques Ndala, born June 14, 1987 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been a FIFA international referee since 2013, which makes him one of the most experienced African officials on the continent.

A very experienced referee

He is participating in his fourth African Cup of Nations after the 2019, 2021 and 2023 editions, recognition of his ability to manage very high-level matches in intense contexts.

Ndala has already officiated the opening match of CAN 2025 between Morocco and the Comoros, a symbolic responsibility which underlines CAF’s confidence in its refereeing, considered calm, authoritarian and consistent.

In addition to the CAN, he has managed many important matches in African club competitions (CAF Champions League, Confederation Cup) and qualifying matches for the World Cup.

On the global stage, Ndala has been selected as an official referee for prestigious competitions such as the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, illustrating the recognition of his expertise beyond the African continent.

Video refereeing (VAR)

For the Tunisia – Tanzania match, video assistance (VAR) will be provided by Eswatini Letticia Antonella Viana, thus strengthening the refereeing team to guarantee fair and precise decisions during this high-stakes match.
