The Ons Jabeur Foundation indicated on Sunday that a “significant” exchange took place between the Tunisian player and Bill Gates during a “Goalkeepers” gathering organized in Abu Dhabi by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, without a formal partnership being announced at this stage.
An exchange made public
In a message published on Instagram, the Ons Jabeur Foundation posted a photo showing the player and Bill Gates in discussion, surrounded by several participants.
The caption states that the two foundations discussed “how they can work together to create better opportunities for the next generation.”
This message constitutes the only official communication at this stage. The Gates Foundation, for its part, has not published any press release confirming a collaboration.
The “Goalkeepers” gathering brings together each year political leaders, philanthropists and organizations committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation highlights initiatives linked to education, health and the reduction of inequalities.
The presence of Ons Jabeur is part of the activities of his foundation, launched to support education and access to sport among young people, particularly in disadvantaged regions.
Perspectives raised
According to the message published, the exchange focused on potential avenues of cooperation, without detail on a possible timetable or on specific projects.
The two foundations work on similar themes, including education, equal opportunities and youth empowerment. No financial or operational commitments have been announced.
At this stage, only the Ons Jabeur Foundation has communicated publicly about this meeting. She describes the exchange as “meaningful”, but does not mention a partnership concluded or in advanced preparation.
The possibility of cooperation between the two structures therefore remains open, without official confirmation from the Gates Foundation.
