Club Africain won the men’s basketball Super Cup for the 2024-2025 season, dominating Union Sportive Monastirienne 73-64 in Radès. This success marks the fifth time that the Bab Jedid club has lifted this trophy in its history.
Club domination in the final
Saturday afternoon, at the Radès Sports Palace, the African Club set its pace in the final of the Men’s Super Cup by winning 73-64 against US Monastirienne, holders of the Tunisian Cup. After a balanced first half (39-35 in favor of the Clubists), the Clubists widened the gap after returning from the locker room to manage their lead until the buzzer.
This victory confirms the defensive solidity and offensive efficiency of Club Africain, capable of resisting Monastir’s comeback attempts throughout the match.
A revenge and a consolidated record
The success of the African Club constitutes a symbolic revenge after the previous edition of the Supercup (2024), won by US Monastirienne with a score of 64-60.
With this new trophy, Club Africain wins its fifth Super Cup in the history of the competition, strengthening its place among the most successful clubs in Tunisian basketball.
Sporting context and issues
The Tunisian Super Cup traditionally pits the national champion against the winner of the Tunisian Cup. In the 2024-2025 season, Club Africain had already shone by winning the Pro A championship, thus winning its fifth national title after a decade of waiting.
For its part, Union Sportive Monastirienne, one of the most successful clubs in the Tunisian basketball landscape, remains a formidable opponent. In addition to winning the Tunisian Cup, it regularly participates in continental competitions such as the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Women’s Super Cup: ASF Jemmal crowned
Earlier on Saturday afternoon in Radès, it was the Jemmal Women’s Sports Association (ASFJ) which won the Women’s Super Cup. Jemmal’s players beat Club Sportif Sfaxien 77-69, ending the latter’s reign after their previous title.
