For its first participation in a continental competition, the MS Boussalem rose to the highest step of the podium, creating the sensation in Tunisia and Africa.
By winning the African club championship, the Boussalem Mououdia Sport achieved a feat that must be registered in the annals of Tunisian volleyball.
For his first participation in this game, after the withdrawal of Hope ST, the Sfaxian CS and the Star, it was the MSB which was appointed to support AS Marsa, organizing club.
The two teams made a flawlessness in the first round. In the round of 16, the MSB got rid of Rukinzo VBC (3-0) while the ASM eliminated ISEG Sport (3-0).
In the quarter-finals the two Tunisian clubs were put face to face and it was Mouloudia which took over (3-1), thus eliminating its acolyte. In the semi-finals, the MSB beat the autonomous port of Douala (3-0) thus derived the final.
Faced with Zamalek, a reference club in Africa, Mouloudia had only its courage to offer. He denied all forecasts and showed resistance and courage in this final where two sets were led to zero.
The first set was won by the Egyptians 25-20. The second set was also won by Zamalek before the MS Boussalem rebuffed to win the third set it wins in the score of 26-24, then the fourth set it wins in the 25-23 score.
In the fifth decisive set, the MSB machine continues on its momentum and won 15-12 against Zamalek, thus winning its first African title in the most beautiful way.
