A new law on sports structures is about to be adopted and in this context, all federal offices will be obliged to organize new elections in order to elect new executive offices.

This was announced this Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Chokri Hamda, director of legal affairs and spokespersons for the Ministry of Youth and Sports in a declaration to the TAP agency, stressing that all sports federations, without exception, will be called upon to “modify their statutes and re-election their executive offices once the law on sports structures will be published”.

This also concerns the Tunisian Football Federation at a time when a new federal office must be elected on March 9. Thus, the federal office which will be elected will be called upon to organize a new elective assembly within 6 months from the date of publication of the new law on sports structures in accordance with revised electoral conditions such as stipulated in the Act on sports structures.

In short, this concerns all sports federations, which will have a period not exceeding six months to make the changes necessary for their statutes so that they comply with the requirements of the new law on sports structures.

Chokri Hamda said that the new sports structures law is almost ready and should soon be examined during a ministerial council and then in the House of People’s Representatives to be approved and then officially adopted.
