A drama was avoided this Monday, April 10, 2023 in the El Gorjani room. Indeed, the situation degenerated during the match between the African club and the Radès sports star, on behalf of the first day of the super play-basketball.
According to videos published on social networks, a muscular intervention of the police caused a jostling which ended up the collapse of the barriers and the fall of several clubists.
However, according to Sami Kadhi, president of the Basketball section of the African Club, the match “started in normal conditions, in the presence of supporters of the two teams”.
He explains in a declaration to Mosaic FM that “the use of tear gas provoked these scenes and the stampede which could have made victims”.
The official spokesperson for the Interior Ministry said, on the microphone of IFM that police officers tried to push the supporters to leave the room before retiring after the collapse of the barriers.
