2026 World Cup: Discounted tickets for Tunisian supporters

The prospect of the 2026 World Cup takes on a new dimension for Tunisian supporters. The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the sale of discounted tickets intended for supporters of the qualified selections for the next World Cup, organized jointly by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

In its press release, FIFA specifies that these tickets will be sold exclusively via the national federations of qualified countries. Their price was set at $60 for each match, an initiative aimed at allowing a greater number of supporters to accompany their national teams during this global competition.

For Tunisia, this announcement is particularly awaited. The Tunisian Football Federation will soon have to communicate on the practical terms of sale and distribution of these tickets at preferential rates, as well as on the eligibility conditions. Among the criteria imposed by FIFA is the obligation to reserve these tickets exclusively for supporters and fans of the selection concerned, in order to avoid any speculative resale.

The price of tickets was until now an obstacle

This measure comes in a context where the overall cost of traveling to attend the 2026 World Cup remains high, particularly for Tunisian supporters. Between intercontinental transport costs, accommodation and related expenses, the price of tickets has until now constituted an additional obstacle. Setting a single and relatively accessible price could thus encourage a more visible Tunisian presence in the stands.

On a sporting level, the national selection program is already known. The Eagles of Carthage will begin their journey on June 15, 2026 in Monterrey, Mexico, against the winner of the European play-off between Ukraine, Sweden, Poland and Albania. The second match is scheduled for June 20 against Japan, still in Monterrey. Tunisia will then travel to Kansas City, United States, to face the Netherlands on June 26, 2026.

A few months before kick-off, the announcement of reduced price tickets gives hope to many Tunisian supporters wishing to experience the event up close. It now remains to know the strategy of the Tunisian Football Federation to guarantee a fair and transparent distribution of these precious sesames.
