The Tunisian taekwondo delegation is currently in China for a preparation course before the World Championships, scheduled for October 24 to 30 in Wuxi. Twelve athletes, six men and six women, will represent Tunisia during this major international competition.
Leaving Wednesday morning, the Tunisian national taekwondo team began its final phase of preparation for the People’s Republic of China. This course is a continuation of the in-depth work carried out over several months to sharpen the physical condition and concentration of athletes before one of the biggest world events in the discipline.
The World Championships will be held at the Taihu International Exhibition Center in Wuxi, a city known for regularly hosting major international events.
Tunisia will field a balanced selection made up of twelve taekwondoists:
- Men: Mohamed Amine Zoghlami (54 kg), Noureddine Triki (58 kg), Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi (63 kg), Fares Boujemai (68 kg), Firas Kattoussi (-80 kg) and Moataz Ifaoui (+87 kg).
- Women: Aïcha Zoghbi (46 kg), Ikram Dhahri (49 kg), Ouhoud Ben Aoun (53 kg), Chaïma Toumi (57 kg), and Wafa Masghouni (62 kg).
These athletes will have the mission of confirming the progression of Tunisian taekwondo on the international scene and, why not, of winning medals against the best fighters in the world.
