Abundant rains and snowfall have caused a rise in waters in several localities in the governorate of Jendouba, hampering traffic and insulating nearly 3,000 inhabitants. The flood wadis submerged the roads, complicating access to certain regions.

The mayor of the delegation of Oued Meliz published a press release alerting the inhabitants to the risks of floods, due to the high level of the waters caused by the heavy rain.

The main bridge in the area has been overwhelmed by waters, insulating several surrounding localities.

The Regional Directorate of Civil Protection in Jendouba confirmed that the rains will continue until Thursday evening. The regions of Balta Bou Aouane and Ain Draham recorded maximum quantities of precipitation, exceeding 47 mm.

Hay and snowfall have also been reported in localities such as Oued El Ghorra, Ain Sultan, Ghar El Dimaou, Tebaynia, Dar Fatma and Balta Bou Aouane.
