Two telluric tremors, with a magnitude of 3.8 and 4 degrees on the Richter scale, were recorded in the early hours of Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (INM).
The first shock, which occurred at 12:49 am, was located 3.5 km south-east of Sidi Bouzid. Feeling by the inhabitants, she reached a magnitude of 3.8. Three minutes later, a second shock of magnitude 4 was detected, with an epicenter located 10.6 km northeast of Souk Jedid. It was also noticeable by the local population.
These data come from the preliminary analyzes carried out by the seismological stations of the National Institute of Meteorology. Since the beginning of the year, they have recorded nine shocks in the Sidi Bouzid region.
These seismic tremors recorded -six in Meknassi, one in Regueb, last week and two last night -are qualified as normal and have no danger, according to INM.
