The Littoral Protection and Development Agency (APAL) announced, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, having withdrawn parasols installed without authorization on the beach of Soliman, in the governorate of Nabeul.
According to a press release published on its Facebook page, the intervention took place on a portion of the maritime public domain, in the presence of the police and the delegate of Soliman.
The Apal recalls that this operation is part of its campaign to fight against the anarchic occupation of the coast, particularly during the summer season, where the attempts at illegal privatization of the seaside space are multiplying.
In Bizerte, more than 30 parasols seized in June
On June 24, a similar operation was carried out on Ras Angela beach, in the Bizerte Sud delegation. On this occasion, more than 30 chairs, 32 parasols, 5 tables and 40 reed huts were confiscated.
This action, coordinated with the regional beaches supervision commission, also gave rise to more than 12 minutes and several warnings addressed to the offenders, authorized or not, warning them against any recurrence.
Reinforced monitoring throughout the summer
Faced with the resurgence of illegal practices in the maritime public domain, the APAL ensures that these control campaigns will continue all summer in all coastal governorates.
The authorities call on citizens to comply with the regulations in force and to point out any attempt to privatize the beaches, in order to guarantee equitable access to public spaces.
