The wholesale markets of Sfax, specialized in fruits, vegetables and seafood, take a new step towards modernization.
Two agreements on the installation of an electronic invoicing system were signed on July 1 at the headquarters of the governorate, between the municipality of Sfax and the Tunisian wholesale markets in Bir El Kassaa (Sotumag), the Ministry of Trade and Development of Exports announced on Wednesday.
The signature took place in the presence of the Minister of Commerce, Samir Abid, as part of a national program aimed at modernizing distribution circuits on a regional scale.
The main objective of this electronic system is to strengthen the transparency of commercial transactions by allowing increased traceability, better identification of stakeholders and a limitation of the use of intermediaries and speculators. Ultimately, this reform aims to stabilize prices, optimize distribution circuits and improve market efficiency.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy of the ministry aimed at generalizing electronic billing in the country’s wholesale markets, in order to better supervise trade flows and fight against speculative practices.
