Tunisia has 10,982,754 inhabitants

The results of the 2014 population census, published by the National Institute of Statistics indicate that the Tunisian population amounts to 10 million 982 thousand 754 inhabitants, including foreigners.

This census noted an increase in the number of inhabitants of the order of 1 million 71 thousand 854 inhabitants since the 2004 census which had 9 million 910 thousand 900 inhabitants.

2,712,976 households

The results of the census highlight, moreover, that Tunisia has 2 million 712 thousand 976 households, an increase of 12.2% compared to 2004 (2 million 185 thousand 800 households).

70.2%of Tunisians live in cities, according to INS with the largest concentration on Tunis (10.6%), followed by Sfax (8.9%) then Nabeul (7.5%).

Still according to the first results published by INS, the number of housing in Tunisia amounts to 3 million 289 thousand 903.
