A serious road accident cost the lives of four people on Tuesday evening on national road 17 linking the governorates of Kef and Kasserine, in the Aïn Charen area, falling under the Tajerouine delegation.
According to the regional health director in Kef, Moncef El Houani, the accident occurred in the early evening and caused the immediate death of two men, born in 1966 and 1981, as well as two women, born in 1972 and 1981.
A 22-year-old young man was also seriously injured. Emergency transported to the Kef regional hospital, he received first aid before being operated on to treat several rib fractures and other injuries on different parts of the body. His condition is considered stable.
The circumstances of the accident remain to be clarified. An investigation was opened by the National Guard brigade responsible for traffic in Tajerouine to determine the causes of the tragedy and establish responsibilities.
