A serious road accident cost the life of five this Wednesday, July 30, 2025, on the road connecting the governorates of Sidi Bouzid and Kasserine, according to concordant sources cited by Mosaic FM.
The drama occurred following a violent collision between a rural transport car of the “rental” type and a truck truck. In addition to the five deaths, five other passengers were injured to various degrees and were quickly transported to the local Sbeïtla hospital to receive the necessary care.
The civil protection units under the regional directorate of Kasserine intervened to rescue the wounded and put the remains to the competent authorities, in this case the National Guard of Sidi Bouzid, the area of the accident administratively falling from this governorate.
This accident highlights the danger of certain roads in areas in the interior of the country, often poorly maintained and with high traffic of utility vehicles. The road between Sidi Bouzid and Kasserine is regularly the scene of similar dramas, again raising the question of the security of rural public transport, in particular “rental” vehicles, often overloaded and poorly supervised.
