As part of the national strategy aimed at modernizing public public transport and meeting the growing needs of the regions, the Sahel transport company (STS) announced, this Thursday, October 2, 2025, the launch of a national call for tenders for the acquisition of 59 new buses.

According to the company’s press release, this lot includes 50 standard buses for urban transport And 9 Interurban comfort buses intended to strengthen links between cities. These vehicles will improve the quality of services in the three governorates of the Sahel: Sousse, Monastir and Mahdia.

The distribution of buses will be done according to the priority needs of each region, in compliance with the principle ofterritorial equity and social justicein order to guarantee better mobility conditions for citizens.

This project is part of a broader policy aimed at reducing the pressure on existing transport infrastructure, fluidifying traffic in urban areas and encouraging the use of public transport in the face of the rise in mobility needs.

With this investment, the Sahel transport company intends to consolidate its role as an essential actor in the daily life of the inhabitants, while strengthening the economic and social attractiveness of the region.
