As an unexpected visit to Port Kantaoui, the Minister of Tourism Sofiène Tekaya revealed several irregularities which prompted the authorities to open an administrative and judicial investigation.
In this alarming context, the minister promised a complete overhaul of the management of the Kantaoui port in collaboration with the local authorities.
“We will put in place strict measures to give this site its prestige of yesteryear and guarantee a pleasant stay to visitors,” he said.
This intervention by the Minister marks the start of a series of shares aimed at redressing the situation in the tourism sector in Sousse, with the aim of restoring the confidence of investors and visitors in this major Tunisian tourism pole.
Revealing a series of serious irregularities, an administrative and judicial inquiry has been opened to determine the responsibilities and sanction any person involved in the degradation of this emblematic tourist site.
