From the first day of the holidays, the city of Tozeur welcomed a respectable number of tourists, mainly Tunisian, but also a few foreigners, all in a context marked by intensive preparations for hotels, travel agencies, tourist vehicle drivers and craft shops.
The president of the union owners of craft shops, Mohamed Nasr, expressed his hope of seeing a strong influx of tourists in the region, stressing that reservations in hotels have exceeded 94 %.
He indicated that the owners of shops have been prepared for some time by providing the necessary products available, in particular the dates Deglet Nour, very popular with Tunisian tourists.
In a statement to the Tunis Africa Press agency, he considered that cultural and commercial animation plays an important role in the attraction of tourists and in the extension of their stay. He also expressed his wish that the International Oase Festival will help generate the expected dynamics.
Other owners of craft shops have indicated that they have prepared according to the information they had on the expected tourist dynamics. Each trader has invested in certain products, emphasizing those whose prices are affordable and accessible, due to the notable absence of foreign tourists with strong purchasing power.
