The Tunis Transport Company (TransTU) announced yesterday a temporary traffic interruption on the Tunis rail line – La Goulette – La Marsa (TGM) this Sunday, May 25, due to maintenance work provided on two bridges in Carthage.
According to the press release, the traffic of trains will be suspended between the Kheireddine and the Marsa Plage stations throughout the day. This interruption is due to the installation of supports on the Carthage Hannibal bridge (PK 15.990) and the installation of a new bridge at Carthage Amilcar (PK 17.129).
The rail service will remain operational between Tunis Marine and La Goulette Casino. To compensate for the partial stop of the TGM, the TransTU will strengthen the frequency of buses on line 347 throughout the day.
Transu calls users to understanding, stressing that this work is part of the program to modernize rail infrastructure on the TGM line.
