Clashes between the inhabitants of Jemna and Galâa broke out on Tuesday, May 26, after young inhabitants of Galâa burned down a palm grove and ransacked palm trees.
The tensions that had calmed down, again broke out between demonstrators and the security forces, this Thursday, May 28, before the Kebili court of first instance where the demonstrators had gathered. The security forces were forced to use tear gas during clashes.
Recall that a curfew was ordered in the localities of Jemna and Galâa, from Wednesday, May 27, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
This measure, taken following the clashes of Tuesday, May 25, between the inhabitants of Jemna and Galâa, will remain in force until further notice, according to the Secretary of State for Security Affairs, Rafik Chelli, with the exception of medical emergency and night workers.
