The Sfax railway station was the scene of a chaos scene this Thursday at dawn. A group of young people has embarked on acts of vandalism, aggressing SNCFT agents, equipment as well as the police and panicing among travelers.
According to Diwan FM, which reports the declarations of a source from the Tunisian Railway National Society (SNCFT), the incidents started at Sousse station, before moving to that of El Jem.
Alerted, the security units had strengthened their presence at Sfax station to secure passengers and rail equipment.
Despite this device, the situation degenerated: acts of violence and vandalism were committed, provoking a movement of panic among users.
The source cited by Diwan FM confirmed that the authors were part of a group of young people aged 16 to 25. The police intervened to try to restore calm and limit material damage.
