Protests expected in Sfax

The City of Sfax is experiencing a catastrophic environmental situation caused in particular by the waste that has been burned, giving off toxic gases.

This Thursday, November 17, 2022, Sfaxian citizens promised to observe protest movements in the heart of the city to denounce the environmental situation.

Besides, the Regional Labor Union has announced that it will supervise these movements also stating that it will organize a protest march in front of its seat.

Receiving in the evening of Wednesday, November 16, the Minister of the Environment, Kais Saied called to multiply efforts to immediately find solutions to this crisis “on the basis of scientific proposals”.

The head of state who suspected a desire to harm the interests of citizens, warns against any attempt aimed at “bringing the state”. And to accuse certain parts of wanting to worsen the situation in this governorate.

“Sfax is already suffering from pollution and today, the situation has worsened because the waste that is not lifted, have been burned,” he said.
