The seismic surveillance stations of the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) detected, this Friday, February 21, 2025 at 7:16 am, a telluric shock of a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter was located east of the delegation of Meknassy, under the governorate of Sidi Bouzid.
This shock remains moderate intensity and should not cause significant material damage.
The Sidi Bouzid region, although not among the areas most exposed to earthquakes in Tunisia, knows this last period of low -intensity but more frequent tectonic movements.
The INM also ensures continuous monitoring of seismic activity on a national level and will publish, if necessary, updates on the evolution of the situation.
