The spokesperson for the Kef first instance court, Mohamed Amine Ayari, announced this Monday that the prosecution had ordered the detention of two individuals, including an official at the Primary Education Inspectorate and an employee at the Kef regional education delegation. They are suspected of having falsified an employment contract for the benefit of a university diploma holder.
According to the same source, cited by the TAP agency, the decision was taken after the presentation of the two suspects before the prosecution, which ordered the opening of a judicial investigation with the first investigating judge. The charges relate in particular to the exploitation of a public position for personal purposes, the acceptance of donations or promises of donations in exchange for alleged facilities, falsification by a public official, the use of forgery and fraud.
Mohamed Amine Ayari stressed that these measures aim to “reveal all the circumstances of a case which strongly shook public opinion in the Kef region, due to its seriousness on the functioning of the public service”.
Initial investigations indicate that the two accused would have, some time ago, provided a young graduate with a false employment contract awarding her a position at the Primary Education Inspectorate. The deception was only discovered when she demanded payment of her salary.
