The Hedi Chaker University Hospital in Sfax inaugurated, this Wednesday, October 30, a pediatric surgical resuscitation unit equipped with the latest technologies.
This unit, which can accommodate up to seven beds, aims to improve care for children who have undergone complex operations.
Dr. Anouar Jarraya, head of the anesthesia and pediatric resuscitation department, said several children have already been admitted after surgical interventions. He stressed that the capacity of the unit also depends on medical staff and logistics equipment.
Dr. Jarrayaa announced that a first renal transplant unit will soon be set up in collaboration with the Regional Health Directorate and the Ministry of Health. He insisted on the importance of this specialty to ensure adequate follow -up of children after complex operations and reduce their pain.
