An extended meeting devoted to the education sector in the governorate of Gabès was held in the afternoon of Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the headquarters of the governorate, in the presence of all stakeholders in the sector.
On this occasion, the regional education delegation revealed that 37 schools require urgent intervention, at an estimated cost of more than 3.7 million dinars.
Local authorities have been called upon to in -depth check the state of reported establishments, in order to integrate them into the list of schools requiring priority interventions. The need to unite efforts and mobilize the funding required to intervene on time.
In addition, municipal officials were invited to take the necessary measures concerning the buildings presenting a danger for passers -by, in particular by reactivating the local commissions responsible for constructions threatening ruin. The emphasis was placed on the importance of involving companies through their social responsibility and mobilizing civil society to support urgent interventions in certain schools.
Finally, the regional delegation presented an inventory of the educational sector in the region, reviewing current projects, the difficulties encountered as well as the preparations for national exams and the start of the school year 2025-2026.
