Several northern regions recorded significant amounts of rain over the past 24 hours, according to data released on Sunday (November 23).

The governorates of Béja, Jendouba and Bizerte were the most affected, with readings sometimes exceeding 40 mm. Further south, precipitation remained weak and localized. This rainfall total confirms the return of a marked wet episode in the North-West.

Béja and Jendouba heavily watered

The governorate of Béja experienced notable rains, notably in Nefza (35 mm), Barrage Kessab (26 mm), Béja-Sud and Amdoun (16 mm each). Other stations like Tibar (10 mm) or Mejez El Bab (10 mm) also display significant levels, testifying to an active front in the region.

In Jendouba, the accumulations are even higher in several localities: Béni Mtir reached 49 mm, Tabarka Aéroport 42 mm, Aïn Draham 46 mm, Balta Bouaouane 32 mm, Tabarka-ville 32 mm, confirming an intense rainy episode in the border and forest strip of the North-West.

Bizerte: an episode marked on the coast and the heights

The governorate of Bizerte is among the wettest in this episode, with: Sejnène at 41 mm, Joumine at 40 mm, Ghezala at 34 mm. Values between 16 and 20 mm in several coastal localities such as Menzel Bourguiba, El Médina, Metline, Raf Raf or Ghar El Melh.

This rain pattern confirms a significant contribution to the watershed of several dams in the North.

Further east and in the center-north, the recorded accumulations are significantly more modest. In Siliana, several stations do not exceed 1 mm, a sign of a very attenuated episode in this area. Same observation in Kef, where Sakiet Sidi Youssef recorded only 1 mm over the period.

In the governorate of Nabeul, the quantities are variable but remain moderate, with posts like Dar Allouche (28 mm), Haouaria (19 mm), Azmour (10 mm) or Boukrim (8 mm), while other coastal areas recorded only a few millimeters.
