The agents of the district of Manouba forests, supported by civil protection, reached the evening of Monday, June 30, 2025 in control of a fire that had declared itself on the heights of Jebel Ammar.
The fire ravaged about seven hectares of vegetation, including six hectares of secondary forest and brush, as well as a hectare of young Aleppo pines, according to the declarations of Karim Saad, chief of the district, to the TAP agency.
The speed of intervention of forest teams and civil protection units, supported by reinforcements from the Directorate General of Forests, Civil Protection of Radès and Ariana as well as the National Army, made it possible to circumscribe the fire in time. Despite the presence of winds that were likely to spread the flames, the firefighters managed to limit the damage and protect a set of eight homes located in the immediate vicinity of fire, thanks to the mobilization of ten tanker trucks.
It is not the only disaster that occurred recently in the region. Last week, another fire devoured 40 hectares of thatched in the area of Borj Ennour, in Borj El Amri. Thanks to a rapid intervention, a nearby residential area could be spared. In addition, a fire also declared itself in a hay deposit located in an inhabited area in Bouhanach, in the delegation of Mornaguia, destroying around 3000 boots, according to the same official.
