The lifting of the Bizerte mobile bridge resumed, this Monday, December 4, its normal activity, especially since the fire that had declared itself on July 26 in one of the electrical adjustment stations.
The lifting of the Bizerte mobile bridge has resumed its activity in accordance with the winter program which will extend until May 31, 2024 after the completion of the installation of the electromechanical system.
In addition, the work on the installation of a modern fire surveillance and protection system will be completed on January 30, 2024.
This return to normal follows several experimental liftings from the bridge, all carried out successfully, as part of the completion of the work of the first phase of the project to renew its electromechanical system.
A fire broke out on July 26 in one of the electrical adjustment stations located at the bottom of the Bizerte mobile bridge control cabin causing significant material damage.
Entering the farm in 1980, the Bizerte bridge has faced, for the past twenty years, to serious maintenance problems in addition to automotive and port traffic which is no longer suitable for this work that has become Out of Date.
