The schools of Kélibia, in the governorate of Nabeul, suspended their courses this Thursday due to the strong precipitation which struck the region. The decision was announced by the regional education commissioner, Lotfi Guizani.
According to his statements to the TAP agency, the torrential rains recorded on the night of Wednesday to Thursday reached up to 78 mm in a short time, resulting in water infiltrations in several schools.
“This suspension aims above all to guarantee the safety of the students, many not having been able to go to class because of the flooded roads,” said the manager.
A direct consequence of this exceptional weather situation: the oral and practical tests of the baccalaureate, initially scheduled for this week, are postponed at the start of next week. As for the third quarter exams in other school levels, they will be reprogrammed on a later date.
