A water pipe exploded in the evening of Tuesday, February 20, causing floods that affected 53 houses.
The explosion of this water duct of the Tunisian company of exploitation and distribution of waters (SONEDE) caused water leaks and floods that have reached the residential areas of Mellassine, said Colonel Moncef El Riabi, regional director of civil protection in Tunis, in a declaration at Mosaique FM.
Nearly 53 houses were affected, the water reaching about one meter in several of them. Civil protection units intervened to pump the water in question. The situation decanted around 10:00 p.m. when all the water was pumped, confirmed Colonel Moncef El Riabi.
In addition, assistance has been provided to certain families whose houses and goods have undergone significant damage.
